Avenue Kids™ is a children’s orchestra directed by
Tracy Brade in Oak Park, IL. The weekly class is geared toward
introducing kids to a broad spectrum of music including music
from other countries, cultures and genres. Each session lasts
approximately 8 to 12 weeks and centers on a theme, i.e. Celtic,
American fiddle, a particular era of classical, a particular
composer, musicals, pop, jazz & rags, etc. There is always at least
one public performance per session. The group is open to children
of all ages who can read music. For those just beginning or not
yet reading music, private lessons are the way to go. Click on

By expanding children’s knowledge of the many types of music,
they become more appreciative, more open minded to other
cultures, and more likely to find a type of music which captivates
and inspires them to practice.
The experience is further enriched through performance.
Children gain confidence and poise as they perform and enjoy
the experience of sharing their music.
